Scrutineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
Before the team can compete in the Dynamic Events and/or practice at the test track, the car has to pass the technical inspection (scrutineering). The inspection is divided into several sections for easier execution of the thorough inspection.
Scrutineers are to perform Technical and Safety Inspections according to Formula Student 2022 Rulebook and will be provided with all necessary checklists and instructions prior to the competition start.
Track Marshals are necessary for safe, well-organized and precise on-track activities. They are required to attend morning briefings with the race director where they are given precise instructions on how to conduct their tasks. Track Marshals also communicate with the drivers when they are approaching the start to briefly check if they are fully aware of the course layout. This position is great for those who want to see and feel the action as closely as possible.
Logistics staff is crucial in order to ensure smooth operations off the track. This position involves communicating with the teams in their pit area, with the sponsors and also with the judges to make sure everyone has everything they need. A driver’s license is also handy because picking up judges from the airport and their hotel may also be needed, as well as trips to local stores for supplies (food, drinks, tools, etc.). Other activities include selling the tickets and other day-to-day business.
Camping site preparation and maintenance
The teams are located on the dedicated camping site which has to be prepared with all the necessary facilities (electricity, water, etc.). Staff members will work along with the organiser responsible for the camping site and assist him with his day-to-day activities and communicate with the teams to ensure that their stay at the FS Alpe Adria 2022 as smooth as possible.
Track site preparation and maintenance
This position includes keeping the track clean and tidy, as well as preparation of the courses for dynamic disciplines (placing the cones and tires on the dedicated place) when needed. Also crowd control to restricted areas and other day-to-day track activities are included.
